Ten days to plan. One night to win over eight hundred people.
Opening the first Bistrot Top Chef in front of 800 guests
For the opening of the first Bistrot Top Chef, M6 commissioned an experience designed in 10 days for more than 800 press and VIP guests. The evening drew on the show’s values and its chefs, with 5 bands, a distinctive set, 4 experiences and several surprises. It generated millions of social media impressions and dozens of pieces of press coverage.
Ten days is half the usual planning time for an event of this size. Everything has to happen in parallel. The set takes shape while bands are booked, the guest list comes together and catering logistics are arranged. Each decision has to be made once and then stand.
The particular challenge was the venue. A new restaurant is set up for a fixed number of diners, so we had to plan for 800 people moving through it. That meant designing routes through the space, spreading out the 4 experiences to avoid crowding and keeping the kitchen running at pace throughout the evening.
We regularly bring our experience with restaurants and the M6 ecosystem to projects ranging from the pop-up restaurant (F)EAT, created for Hennessy V.S to the launch party for the M6+ platform.
Paris event agency for your restaurant opening
A restaurant has a few weeks after opening to become part of people’s routines. After that, it competes directly with the neighbourhood’s established spots. A launch party can draw in a single evening the attention that would otherwise take months of publicity.
That takes planning. The guest list needs a mix of journalists, creators and people whose recommendations carry weight, an experience worth talking about, and a production team that can handle the crowds while keeping service running smoothly.
Opening a restaurant, a bistro, a food concept or a new venue? Wild Buzz Agency is a Paris event agency that designs the evening, produces the experience and manages press invitations, even on tight deadlines.
